The enrolment process at Gilson College requires prospective students to meet certain selection criteria. All applications are reviewed by an Enrolments Committee, who assess the suitability and readiness of each applicant. A written response is then sent to the family.
We recommended you apply 1-2 years before the desired entry time, with major intake years being Foundation (formerly Prep) and Year 7. Most offers for these levels are made in May of the year preceding enrollment. While applications for other year levels are welcome, admission is dependent on available vacancies and meeting standard criteria.
Gilson College hosts two information evenings each year, in March and August where anyone is welcome to come and hear more about our school. For more information, please contact our enrolments team.
Follow the steps outlined below to begin an exciting journey of learning at Gilson College:
1. Request for a Prospectus (Information Pack)
Phone our enrolments team for an information pack. You should receive your information pack in the post within 2-3 days.
2. Apply
After reading and considering the information, you can proceed with an application by completing an online application including the required documents. You will receive a confirmation email that your application has been submitted.
3. Process of Application
Depending on the year of entry and availability of a place, you will be contacted to arrange an interview with yourself and your child. At the time of your interview, you will need to pay an enrolment fee of $200.
If it has been some time since completing the application form, you will be asked to provide the two most recent reports, NAPLAN results or any other relevant reports.
Please note that for Year 7 and Foundation intake, we interview the year before school entry.
4. Offer
Following the interview, your application will be assessed by the Enrolments Committee. All applications will receive a written response detailing the decision of the Committee. If you have received an offer we will ask you for your acceptance of confirmation, the signed paperwork and a payment of commitment fee per child which is due within 2 weeks of the offer being made.
5. Confirm
Once your paperwork has been returned and the commitment fee has been received, your child’s enrolment is now confirmed.
6. Welcome
